Jonathan Dayton High School’s “9 to 5: The Musical” Opens Thursday

The curtains will open this Thursday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. for the first performance of “9 to 5: The Musical” at Jonathan Dayton High School’s Halsey Hall.  The cast will also perform on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 also at 7:30 p.m.  Assigned seating tickets can be purchased in advance at Halsey Hall from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. through Thursday and tickets can also be purchased at the door.  Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens.

The production is directed by Springfield Public Schools’ music teacher Ashley Madison and choreographed by communication arts teacher Stephanie Shack.  The cast is made up of over two dozen students from Jonathan Dayton High School.  The musical, a stage adaptation of the 1980 comedy film that starred Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Dolly Parton and Dabney Coleman, features music by Dolly Parton and ran on Broadway in 2009.
