In advance of the anticipated storm, the following important notes have been provided by Township officials:

  • Heavy rains and wind gusts up to 40 mph are expected today, June 13 into Friday.  Localized flooding is expected.  Because the ground is already saturated and strong wind gusts are expected, there is a possibility of downed trees and wires.
  • For storm related issues such as blocked streets, downed trees, etc. please call the Springfield Police at 973-376-0400.
  • Stay away from all power lines.  Assume they are live and dangerous.
  • To report downed wires or power outages, customers should call JCP&L’s Customer Service line at 1-888-LIGHTSS (1-888-544-4877.  JCP&L uses an automated system to handle customer calls as efficiently as possible.  Customers who get an automated response when calling JCP&L are encouraged to use it, as it is designed to route their calls to the right destination quickly.
