The August Symphony Orchestra

Thanks to a grant from the Summit Area Public Foundation and funding made possible in part by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, The August Symphony Orchestra will be performing for the eight year at Jonathan Dayton High School on Sunday, July 28, 2013 at 3 p.m.  This is a free concert but TASO welcomes donations.

According to a history on the website for TASO, it all “began with a walk” in late 2004 as “a conglomeration of the efforts of many orchestra
enthusiasts, musicians and non-musicians alike.”  They are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and the objective is “to create an enduring, high quality ensemble bringing great music into the community.”  The program for the evening includes Beethoven’s Prometheus Overture, Chopin’s Les Sylphides and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 Op. 56 in A minor conducted by Maestro David Gilbert.
