Free Summer Concert

Free Summer Concert

When the summer vacation season begins to wind down each year, Springfield hosts a free concert thanks to the sponsorship of local businesses. Tonight, August 12, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jonathan Dayton High School Auditorium, Jay and the Americans and The Tokens will be headlining.  The Springfield Patriot Chamber of Commerce also announced a new opening act:  Nicole Vanessa Ortiz, an American Idol performer from New Jersey, is slated to sing the National Anthem, and two additional songs with her father, Michael D’Amore.  Jay and the Americans and The Tokens are groups that were popular in the 1960s.  The Tokens are known for their hit single “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”.

The sponsors include Investors Bank, Springfield Patriot Chamber of Commerce, Mack Camera and Video Service, Javerbaum Wurgaft, Cardinal Land Properties, Hecht Family Chiropractic, McManimon, Scotland & Bauman, Hammer Dental Associates, Springfield B’nai Brith, Allstate Insurance, and DRG International.

Attendees are advised to come early to get the best seats in the house.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
