Fundraising efforts for the Jonathan Dayton High School Class of 2014’s Project Graduation are underway.  They’re kicking off the school year with three fundraisers on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  A car wash, a clothing drive and a yard sale will all take place at Jonathan Dayton High School.  The events have been listed on the Springfielder.com Community Calendar.  Project Graduation is a national effort to provide fun and safe activities after graduation to keep students away from alcohol or drugs at unsupervised parties.

Car Wash

Almost a yearly staple now, the Project Graduation Car Wash is a fun way for the students to raise money and for cars around town to get some royal treatment for only $5.  Trish Finigan is overseeing the car wash and can be reached at 973-202-1666.

At the same time, Sandy Lyna is supervising the Clothing Drive for used clothing that includes wearable men’s, women’s and children’s usable clothing, shoes, belts, handbags, linens, stuffed animals and hard toys.  Project Graduation will receive money for every pound collected and they ask that all items are placed into tightly tied plastic bags.  Anyone with questions about the drive can reach Sandy Lyna at 908-247-2071.

They won’t let you leave the high school without enticing you to stop by the “Yard Sale”.  Anyone wanting to clean out their closets and cupboards can drop off items for sale on Friday, October 4th between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.  Kim Fitzpatrick is heading the Yard Sale and can be reached at 973-902-2724.

The rain date for the fundraising extravaganza is the following day, Sunday, October 6th.
