Eyewitness accounts tell of a mid-day tale of horror at the Springfield Gardens earlier this week.  On Tuesday, November 12 during the day, a woman broke her Rosewood Avenue apartment window and jumped two stories to the ground below to escape.  Sources say she had been held hostage there for at least two days by an acquaintance, either a current or former boyfriend, and that she had been bound and threatened at gunpoint.

Upon her fall, one resident attempted to assist.  Multiple Springfield police vehicles quickly arrived and the Springfield First Aid Squad also responded to tend to the woman.  Unconfirmed reports indicate she was transported to Morristown Medical Center.  Her captor was not at the scene at the time but was eventually arrested.  The identity of the woman will not be released as it is a case of “domestic violence”.
