Around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, fire trucks from the Springfield Fire Department were at Jonathan Dayton High School responding to an unknown incident. Eyewitnesses report seeing three fire department vehicles on the scene. By 10:30 a.m., the matter seemed to be cleared up and fire crews were back in the firehouse.

Springfield Fire Chief James Sanford offered more insight into what transpired:  “A student bumped a pull station. We reviewed the surveillance camera footage and took a written statement from the student. It was determined to be accidental.”
