An announcement by the Township of Springfield advises, “All residents should put their recyclables out the night prior but no later than 6 am Wednesday regardless of the weather forecast.”  With snowfall expected overnight Tuesday into Wednesday and a Winter Storm Warning in effect from midnight tonight to 6 p.m. Wednesday, there is uncertainty about whether the Township’s recycling contractor, Giordano Companies, will be able to canvas the entire town.

The National Weather Service predicts snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches along with ice.  However, the timing of the weather pattern and road conditions may have no impact on collection.  Giordano Companies is planning on making a last minute decision and according to the announcement expects to know tomorrow between 5 and 6 a.m. which routes they will collect.

Residents are being directed to the Giordano Companies’ website, www.gogreengiordano.com, which will have a general message about the weather and collections.
