Dayton’s Iuliano Commits to Morehead State University

Springfield’s Jonathan Dayton High School senior, Joe Iuliano, was recently accepted to Division I Morehead State University.  Iuliano was also offered a part athletic/academic scholarship.  On Friday, February 28th at a crowded library event sponsored by the Bulldog Gridiron Club, Iuliano signed his Commitment Letter of Intent to play football at MSU.

Flanked my his mother, Lisa, his father, Phil, and brother, Mike, the younger Iuliano  was praised by coaches and mentors, Steve Trivino, Bob Martin, Mike Abbate, and Steve Puryear, during a joyous program emceed by Township Committeeman Ziad Andrew Shehady.  Supporters in attendance included several dozen friends and family members.

Iuliano’s father, Phil, proudly explained, “He is one of very few student/athletes who plays and was named Captain of all three Varsity Sports – football, basketball, baseball.”  Iuliano has maintained an impressive GPA while racking up numerous accolades and honors for his athletic achievements.

Iuliano is just the second player from Dayton in two years to play Division I football.
